What do you think of Case Management Jobs?
Well, not too long ago I accepted a case manager position since I enjoy assisting individuals with addiction problems. Well, to make the story short, everything was going great since I was assisting them by connecting them with community resources until the judges decided that it would be a good idea for me to check for safety and drug activity in their homes. I think that this is ridiculous, and in my opinion this should be done by the police department. Not too long ago, a social worker in Kentucky was killed when she was removing a child from a home. I understand the need for home visits, but this type of work is becoming very dangerous for social workers and case managers. Well, I decided to resigned since the Drug Court treatment coordinator told me that I had to do whatever the judges will order me to do. These judges are ridiculous and they should ask the police department to conduct these types of investigations. Well, do you guys think that I'm over reacting or do you agree with me?

Child Support...Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200...
With so many children being born and parents either not being married or ending up divorced there's alot of parents that owe child support. Mostly men although there are women that owe it as well. Some take on their responsibility to provide for their child with no problem and some refuse to pay until their forced to. Their reasons for not paying vary from not being able to afford it, to no job, to anger at the other partner, to visitation violations or just plain stubornness. With the laws we have now, if you owe back child support the courts can take your driver's and/or fishing/hunting licenses, can seize and auction any outstanding property you own and can put you in prison. I recall a man that a friend of the family met that had his home, which had been in his family for over 200 years, and all his land and cattle seized and auctioned to pay back child support on his 5 kids after he and his wife divorced...he also went to prison. Hubby is also paying back child support even though he's disabled, his son is over 21 years old and is married and living on his own.I also know some that purposely refuse to pay and in fact has had family paying him for jobs in cash in order...
Starting soon...
Hopefully within the next week or so, I will be starting my certification classes online through Kaplan. I'm taking Case Management. I'm all excited about it and looking forward to starting. Have you taken online classes before? What was it like for you?r he and his wife divorced...he also went to prison. Hubby is also paying back child support even though he's disabled, his son is over 21 years old and is married and living on his own.I also know some that purposely refuse to pay and in fact has had family paying him for jobs in cash in order to avoid having to pay the child support. Eventually he will be jailed for not paying. If I had a child that owed child support, I'd encourage them to pay it...after all by not paying it they are only taking away from the child. It isn't the child's fault that the parents can't get along or aren't together. If your child owed child support, would you help them avoid paying it or push them to take responsibility? If you owed child support, would you pay it or try to get out of it? Do you think the child support should go to the other partner to use as they wish (like it is now) or do you think...
Money Talks And Bulls$$t Walks!!!
They say that, "The one who has the gold, makes the rules." I know for a fact that this is true. I am in a situation right now where I am being blown away by how the owner of my building is using her money to manipulate her employees and everyone else around her. She has so much money, that she is literally above the law. There have been people in my building who have died and come dangerously close to dying and she has almost gotten away with it.But thanks to me and my big mouth, I pray that she will not get away with it and this will never happen to anyone in this board and care again. I had to contact the Department Of Mental Health Headquarters and now there is a hearing coming up. To tell you the truth, if I had known that this woman had this much power, I would have been intimidated, but thank God for courage and a caring heart. A few months ago, I was almost out of this place, I found a nice place to move, but when I asked the people if I could move in, they said no. I felt so bad, because this is the same place that I go for therapy and case management, so I knew that they know me well. I found out yesterday, that the lady who owns this place, owns the land on which...
HooRaaaaaay, I Am Thrilled!!!
I went to a mental health center today, I believe that I have found a place to go for therapy. I have not been this happy in a very long time. I have been trying to find a therapist for the last two years. Either they would not accept my insurance or they would not treat my disorder. This place has one on one therapy, group therapy, and case management. It also has its own board and care facility and semi-independent living apartments. I am thinking about moving soon. I want to start over again. There are too many hurt feelings lingering here and if I want to really get into the healing process, I want a completely new environment. I will keep you guys updated on my progress. I am just thrilled to pieces.
The SSI Disability Fiasco--Part 3-A
Well the next time I post my up-date on what's going on with my SSI Disability disaster and mix-up that I've been going through, I how to label it Part 4. I feel like the noose is hanging around my head a bit...as I'm hoping, really, really hoping that the jerks over at Social Security will shake their butts just a bit faster and re-instate my benefits by the end of this week. The woman caseworker at Queens Case Management has been a "little" help, but it seems like I'm doing more of the leg, paper, and phone work than she is--I've been in touch with various Public Assistance places and now the process is going through to at least help pay for one month's worth of electric, gas and maybe even rent bills. I've been in touch with the utilities as well and have explained the situation, and are allowing me a short extension.I plan to call that woman representative from Congressman Crowley's office again tomorrow...she's the one I was in contact with last week (Monday) who deals with SSI/Disability issues--and had wanted me to fax over a cover letter authorizing anyone in the Congressman's office to intervene in my behalf--plus fax over the various letters that I had gotten...
I Just Want To Scream---More Lousy News --The SSI Fiasco
I think the first few words says it all.....I just want to scream... Okay, here's another wonderful up-date of my SSi Disability benefits disaster and screw-up. With all the forms I've been filling out to Social Security to reinstate my benefits you think I would have been reinstated by now...nope. I even called them on Monday to find out what my status is, and they said they have everything I mailed out...so like what's going on?? The guy I talked to is mailing me out even MORE forms..crying out loud..getting regular writers cramp from filling out all these forms....But why this particular form wasn't sent out to me when I first talked to the SS person on the 30th of April I'll never know..It's supposed to be some kind of waiver and form to indicate I have no financial resources. The Queens Case Management caseworker did come by today...but everything is still in the lousy paperwork stage...like hey...lets get moving here.. On top of that, I just got in the mail from Medical Assistance, that my Medicaid and Food Stamps are to be terminated as of the beginning of June---I had gotten a letter from these jerks that I needed to send a reconsideration form and proof of...
FBI computer system short on funds
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI faces a $56.7 million funding gap as it builds a new computer system to replace a problem-riddled database of investigation files, Justice Department auditors said Monday. With careful oversight, the Sentinel program still could be successful, auditors from the department's inspector general's office concluded. Even so, the Bush administration's funding request for this year's share of the $425 million system, set for completion in 2009, falls short of what the bureau said it needs keep it on track. The FBI asked for an estimated $150 million in the fiscal year that began October 1; the White House approved spending $100 million. Congress is not expected to approve the FBI's funding until next year. A 112-page audit of the Sentinel system's progress "found that the FBI faces uncertainty" over how to meet the funding needs to continue building it. Although the FBI expects to have about $50 million left over from earlier work on Sentinel and other bureau projects, auditors warned that pulling money from other programs "may have an adverse affect on the FBI's mission capabilities," the auditors said. Responding, the FBI in a statement...
