Women are so much better at estate planning than men
Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune. One evening at an investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away."I may look like just an ordinary man," he said to her, "but in just a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars." Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother.
Estate planning
Do you have your estate all planned out, will or trust written? Or still haven't done it? And if you have children, are you going to divide things equally, do things differently based on need or different interests or on how much they have helped you? Any special bequests to people outside the family or charities? Or leaving anybody out because they've offended you? If you have minor children, do you know who you want them to be with? Or are you just leaving it and not worrying and figuring it will all work out after you are gone?
At what age should someone start their estate planning?
I was thinking of doing a will because I hear so many horror stories about people that didn't take care of their business and the family ends up paying a lot of taxes. Do you think there is a right age or should everyone over 18 years old have one? Perhaps age doesn't matter but what matters if you own property? Anyone have any advice on this?
When is the best time to buy an Insurcance if not today?
Do you have Insurance? Why do you have one and why don't you have? Most people find it that availing an insurance is not a practical way. Why do you think they said it so. If someone will offer you an insurance can you decide to yourself to avail one today? Some people said not today if you offered them a life insurance, sometimes I ask them why not today why do you have to wait for tomorrow what if tomorrow is too late what will you left for your children or to those you will left behind have you already secured their future. Then some people say's I'd rather put my money in the bank than to avail an insurance, I ask them with this question what does the bank is protecting is it your money or is it your life? Does this bank care for your beneficiaries? what will happen to your money in the bank when you die, will their give the whole amount to your family? The answer to all of this is NO, then why does it is hard for anyone to convince to get an insurance. Some says it is about the money and luck of budget because they have too many and priorities obligation. Obligations and priorities never ends so that is why you need to buy insurance so that when time comes that anything...
Do you have a will?
If you died today would your family be taken care of? Who would get what? If you have children have you planned for their future if you died? I don't have one yet. I don't have dependents. I don't have my own home. I have a car and some investments (401K, mutual funds, stocks) that I want to go to my mother. What about you?
Do you care what happens after you die?
I will put the disclaimer way up front (HERE) so that jealous meanies will have no excuse to report this as a provocative religious discussion (like what happened the other time). This is not a religious discussion and I do not intend to discuss afterlife, rebirth, heaven, hell or purgatory. Just simple bread and butter, apple and orange, alright?:PSo, do you care what happens after you die?I am talking about your name, assets, and perhaps, family and friends. Name - this would be your reputation and how you are remembered after your death. Let's bring up some notorious examples - Hilter? Pol Pot? Saddam Hussein? Their deeds may not be regarded favorably after their deaths, yet where are they now? Well, they are dead! For all the good lives they enjoyed, all they got was a mere bad name. What if there is no spiritual retribution? Why struggle so hard to keep a good name and conscience when being wicked, unethical and unscrupulous might instead grant you a life of luxury in this life that might very well be your one and only?Assets - this would be the vainglory that bloats up your head. I don't deny to be different - who don't want more money than you will ever need?...
Do you ever hear about welth management?
Do you ever hear about welth management? The concept of wealth management cinsist of insurance, investment, pension, old day planning, tax and Estate Planningcience when being wicked, unethical and unscrupulous might instead grant you a life of luxury in this life that might very well be your one and only?Assets - this would be the vainglory that bloats up your head. I don't deny to be different - who don't want more money than you will ever need? Who don't want to buy everything and anything you fancy? Who don't want to shape the world to your liking by sheer weight of your resources? Yet what good is all this after you are dead? Your consciousness is erased completely when you breathe your last. Is there a way to still enjoy this material wealth? I seriously doubt.Family, friends - so now you are all happily living together, just like in a fairy tale. But what happens after you wave them bye bye as you choke on your spittle? Well, it is goodbye. They cry, they powder their faces, they turn up for your funeral. I won't say they will forget you right away. But give it time. Life is for the living, not the dead. Memory stays but it fades...
called
I'd like to know what God has called you to do? Also, if you can explain how you knew it was His calling? You see, I was sitting at work today and realized that I'm not happy where I'm at. I don't feel like I'm excercising my faith and serving the Lord through work. Originally I thought God called me to be in estate planning b/c it's a perfect opprotunity to touch elders' lives with Jesus' love. However I've been searching and searching for a financial planning firm with christian values and have not been successful. So back to the question, what has God called you to do and how?
How life would change, if you or your spouse would die tomorrow.
I'm a SAHM, of 2 young kids. I don't make any money (aside from a little online income, which is basically nothing). I do have a college degree, but have never been able to use it. I haven't worked in 3 1/2 years. I am not the most self-confident person, either. If my husband were to die tomorrow, although he does have a life insurance policy, I would probably sell the house, I'd have to get a job, my kids would have to be in school all day (or be in school + day care), and I don't know if I'd make enough to pay for all of this, and pay off our bills we currently owe. I would hope the sale of the house (plus life insurance) would cover it. And I think since my husband used to be in the military, I could get some kind of discount for his funeral? I'd be living near my in-laws (who would be supportive), but all my family lives far away. And that would be rough. But if I moved back home, it would be too expensive for me to be a single mom there.____________If I were to die tomorrow, not much would change for my husband. He'd probably have his mom come stay here for a while to help him out. Or he'd sell the house and move closer to his parents and siblings. ...
when is a will disputable?
