Home insurance horror stories...
Hello. Thanks again.Rental insurance is acceptable as well.
a home insurance question for the home owners out there...
we had a roof leak in the bathroom in april and i had started to file a claim with the Home Insurance but then realized it was only needing a simple patch job and would be under our deductible so i cancelled the claim.. well last week the roof started leaking again in the same area.. i thought maybe the patch was done wrong so i called the guy out and he said we needed a new roof because of how the shingles and pad or something were and left.. well i told that to the insurance lady and she is trying to say its not storm related even though the only time we got the leaks were after tornadoes and not the many rains in between!! then she brought up that she saw we had said it before and she doesnt seem to beleive me when i said i got it fixed before hand.. so now im waiting for a new roofer (the old one didnt do new roofs just patch jobs) and hope he says its storm damage or else im out the whole amount for the roof.. has anyone ran into this? like where you had a problem got it fixed and dropped the claim just to have it happen again and then them acting like you are trying to screw them over? i mean obviously its been months so its not like i...
What type of home insurance do you have?
We've been looking for new home insurance and there are so many choices out there right now. We want to get a good deal but not pay out so much. When looking for home insurance do you consider that they have 2 ways you can go.....if something happens you can have your valuables paid for or you can have them replaced. I definately want to get replacement value as if something happens i want to be able to afford it again at the prices it would cost in the stores now. My neighbor had a fire years ago and didn't have replacement value and she couldn't afford to replace all that she had and had to buy what she could. Do you consider these things when buying home insurance?
How to found out what home insurance company my landlord use?
How to find out what insurance my landlord use? Because my lawyer have been sending him demand letters. andhe havent respond to it yet nor his insurance company. because he havent told them yet. this has been going on since the beginning of may. he had received two of them already. My lawyers want to send his insurance company a copy of the demand letters. but since he isnt responding to the demand letters. We dont know which company he use. We dont want to make this into something big. We are trying to work with him but it seems like he isnt getting the picture. Is there any way for me to find out what company he use for his rental units/ home insurance?
Home Insurance Building
The first American "skyscraper" built in Chicago in 1885. Though it was only 10 stories, and 138 feet tall, it was the first tall building to have a metal superstructure and many windows.
Has anyone purchased nursing home insurance?
I am considering it and wondered what other people thought about it. I realize the younger crowd probaboy hasn't thought about it, so come on you older folks-Let me know what you think!
Who is your auto and/or home insurance company?
We have Hartford right now for both, but I am wanting to see if you have any suggests on other insurance companies. We have to add my son to ours once he gets his license and it is very expensive!! The amount to add our son is equal to 3/4 of what my husband and I pay for us with having two vehicles and the house discount. Please, share your opinions of your insurance company.
IS YOUR HOME INSURANCE OVERPRICED?

For The Older Folks Here...A Question About AARP
I have a question aimed primarily to the older members here at MyLot land..ya know us old farts...anyone over age 50, but this question could be directed also to younger folks with "senior citizen" parents.Ever since I was about 49 years old I started getting mailings from that organization AARP to join up with their organization. I felt a little annoyed as to my mind I was too young to join, but it had announced that "we've notice you're to turn 50 soon" and to join AARP (like how did they know back then?) I guess I was put off by it since to my mind I always considered AARP strictly for senior citizens, that is people over 65 and not younger.Anyway, yet again I've gotten one of their numerous mailings to me to join and am wondering...is it worth it? Does one get any great benefits from it? I really want to know about joining. Also if you're below age 50 and have parents who are members, do they benefit by being members?
